Started as General Optics Laboratory in 1995. For more than 28 years supplying world with innovative solutions in pulsed laser photonics and spatial imaging
Our History
Since its inception in 1995, Geola has been profoundly committed to pulsed laser engineering and holography.
In 1996, we embarked on the development of our first high-energy, pulsed solid-state lasers and integrated them into our commercial holography systems. Between 1998 and 1999, we launched a range of Nd:Glass lasers and holography camera systems, delivering these to clients in Australia, the USA, and Germany.
In 1998, we expanded our offerings to include the distribution of photomaterials for holography, black and white photography, spectral plates, photoplates for radiography, and photomasks. Presently, Geola stands as a leading global supplier of photomaterials for holography.
That same year, 1998, saw the initiation of our robust research and development programme into digital holography powered by pulsed Neodymium lasers. Subsequently, we created a distinct RGB SLM pulsed laser, a technology that currently serves as a critical tool in contemporary hologram production facilities for hologram recording and duplication.
By 1999, we had patented both single-step (DWDH) and two-step (MWDH) digital hologram printing technologies, both of which are rooted in our pulsed laser systems. Our proprietary holographic printers enable the production of display holograms directly from a series of images, resulting in deeply dimensional, full-colour holograms with potential for animation.
In 2012, we began refining our digital holographic printing technique to cater to the demands of embossed holography. This process led to the development of specialised pulsed lasers and Originators tailored to the needs of embossed holography. Our Originators are capable of creating deep 3D images and other effects that cannot be reproduced by our competitive technology.
Since 2014, we have been producing Hologram Replicators that work with Photopolymer and Silver Halide photofilm, a working principle we patented in 2007.
In 2017, we developed and introduced unique diffractive optical elements for banknote windows. Our innovations were highlighted in invited presentations at several prestigious conferences, including Holoexpo, The Holography Conference, HSP Asia, and HSP Europe.
As of 2023, Geola continues to push the boundaries of holographic technology. Presentations at the upcoming ISDH 2023 symposium in Seoul, South Korea include
– Digital optically variable full-parallax surface-relief holograms for security applications and
– the latest update on our upcoming DWDH desktop holographic printer capable of printing A4 full colour photopolymer holograms.
